Steven Costabile, CFA
Managing Director, Global Head of Private Funds Group, New York
Mr. Costabile joined the firm in 2000 and is the Global Head of the Private Funds Group. Mr. Costabile brings his in-depth knowledge of private funds to PineBridge Investments and has played a significant role in the successful growth of four product lines: Pinestreet LLC (securitizations), PineStar (secondaries), the PEP Program and the Credit Opportunities investment platform. Mr. Costabile serves on the Developed Markets Fund Investment Committee, Secondaries Investment Committee, and Asia Private Equity Investment Committee. His current responsibilities include overseeing all private fund investments in the developed and many emerging markets, as well as sourcing, due diligence, monitoring product development, and marketing. Mr. Costabile’s private equity investing and valuation experience dates back to 1990. Previously, from 1997 to 2000, Mr. Costabile was a Vice President at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) in the Private Funds Group, with a focus on investments on behalf of CSFB and third party investors. Prior to that, he was the Senior Investment Officer of Alternative Investments for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Assistant Director of Venture Capital for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In both positions, Mr. Costabile focused on private equity fund investments. He received both a BSBA and an MBA from Duquesne University. He is also a CFA charterholder and holds a Series 7 license.
Rhonda Ryan
Managing Director, Head of Private Funds Group Europe , London
Ms. Ryan joined the firm in 2006 and is the Head of the Private Funds Group Europe. In addition to heading the Europe private funds group, Ms. Ryan focuses on private equity investment activities on a global basis at PineBridge Investments. Her responsibilities include evaluating and meeting with private capital fund managers, making investment recommendations, and monitoring the performance of the private capital portfolios. Prior to joining the firm, she was Head of Private Equity at Insight Investment, which she joined in 2001. Ms. Ryan’s investment experience began in 1992, and since 1997 her experience has included private equity investing in Europe and the United States. Ms. Ryan also serves on a number of private equity fund advisory boards. Ms. Ryan received a Bachelor of Economics and BA (Asian Studies) from The Australian National University and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. In addition to English, Ms. Ryan speaks Japanese.
Michael Chae
Managing Director, Tokyo
Mr. Chae joined the firm in 2008 and is responsible for sourcing, performing due diligence, analyzing, and monitoring private equity fund investments. Prior to joining PineBridge Investments, Mr. Chae was a Director in Nikko Citi’s Fixed Income Group. Prior to that, Mr. Chae was a Director with Deutsche Asset Management’s Asia-Pacific Private Equity Group, focusing on both direct and fund of funds investments. Mr. Chae has also held positions as a Manager in Shinsei Bank’s Private Equity Group in Tokyo and as a Principal in Credit Suisse First Boston’s Private Equity Group in Hong Kong. Mr. Chae began his career in investment banking and leverage finance with Chase Manhattan Bank. In addition to English, Mr. Chae speaks Japanese and Korean.
Jason McGann, CFA
Vice President, New York
Mr. McGann joined the firm in 2001 and is responsible for sourcing, due diligence and monitoring of private equity fund investments. He also manages PEP IV, a fourth generation fund of funds invested in North America and Europe. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. McGann worked as a Financial Analyst, supporting local currency trading and international emerging markets trading at Merrill Lynch. While at Merrill, Mr. McGann completed the Financial/Accounting Business Analyst Training Program, rotating through Technology Finance, Global Foreign Exchange Finance, and International Emerging Markets Finance. Mr. McGann received a BS from Villanova University in Business Administration, with a major in Finance and a minor in Communication Arts. Mr. McGann is a CFA charterholder and is a member of the CFA Institute and the New York Society of Security Analysts.
Peter Hwang
Vice President, Private Funds Group
PineBridge Investments, Hong Kong
Mr. Hwang joined the firm in 2002 and has been based in Hong Kong since May 2007. He is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and meeting with Asian private equity fund managers (primarily in North Asia and Australia), making investment recommendations and monitoring the performance of the private equity fund portfolio. Before moving to Hong Kong, he was based in London, supporting and managing European private equity operations mainly covering Western Europe. Previously, he worked for Capital IQ, a division of Standard & Poor's. Mr. Hwang received a BS in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University. In addition to English, Mr. Hwang is fluent in Korean.
Arjun Bawa
Vice President, Private Funds Group

Mr. Bawa joined the firm in 2006 and is responsible for sourcing, performing due diligence, analyzing and monitoring private equity fund investments in North America. Additionally, Mr. Bawa is also actively engaged in our fund investment activity in Asia. Mr. Bawa also manages Private Equity Portfolio VI, our sixth generation fund of funds Program. His investment experience, which began in 1997, extends across Asia-Pacific, Europe and the North America. During this time, he has worked at top tier financial institutions including Deutsche Bank and Allianz where he has worked in a wide variety of roles including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital investing and private equity fund investing. Mr. Bawa received a Bachelor of Commerce from the Shri Ram College of Commerce and an MBA from the Institute of Management Technology in India. In addition to English, Mr. Bawa is fluent in Hindi.
