Cynthia Chen, CFA

Ms. Chen joined the firm in 2007 and is a portfolio manager responsible for China and Hong Kong equities. She is the lead manager of the firm’s A-share portfolios and the co-manager of the Greater China equity products. Prior to PineBridge, Ms. Chen was an executive manager with the investment division of IMC Group, overseeing the group’s direct investment projects across various industries including shipping, property, and catering in mainland China, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan. 

In addition to over a decade of fundamental equity investment and research experience, Ms. Chen’s comprehensive role at IMC Group involved conducting deep multi-faceted analysis – from assessing corporations’ physical operations, observing and analyzing performance drivers over time, to overseeing and analyzing the firm’s overall investment risk and return profile – from a total portfolio perspective. Ms. Chen’s expansive purview into the elements that influence Chinese companies’ valuation and investment potential, coupled with her focus on the fundamental research on China over the past 12 years, has provided unique versatility in navigating onshore opportunities and risks. Ms. Chen holds a Master of Science in information systems from the National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Economics degree in accounting from North China University of Technology. She is also a CFA charterholder.
