Ilke Pienaar

Ms. Pienaar joined the firm in 2018 and is Head of EM Sovereign Research. She leads the EM research process, and is responsible for the sovereign team’s output and views across all of the sovereign EM asset segments. She is also the lead analyst for the Latam and SSA regions. Prior to joining PineBridge Investments, Ms. Pienaar worked as an Economist at Rand Merchant Bank, where she managed the firm’s house view on South Africa, producing forecasts and building and maintaining client relationships. She has also held economist and economic analyst roles covering South Africa at Vunani Securities and Absa Capital. Ms. Pienaar received a Master of Commerce in Economics, a Honors in Economics and a Bachelor of Commerce in Public and Development Management from Stellenbosch University.
